Greetings, HRC Family! We are excited to join together in community to serve a picnic lunch to the guests of SHIP each month this Spring and Summer! Our next picnic of this year will be Thursday, July 11th! The picnic will be served outside in a picnic area called Tik-Tock's Grove right behind SHIP in Somerville. We are expecting to feed approximately 30-40 people at the picnic, and have a number of ways that you can help! Please consider donating and/or prepping or cooking food, transporting/serving the meal, and/or fellowshipping with the guests at the picnic. Any leftovers will be sent out on the Mobile Soup Kitchen or served the following day.
We also have a new way for you to help, even with a super busy schedule or if you don't live locally! You can support our efforts to feed those in need by sending a financial donation which we will use to buy needed ingredients for the meal! You can send your donation via Venmo to Kelly (@Kelly-Kotch) or through TITHELY. If you are local and would prefer to donate cash or check, you can do so through your offerings (include notation for SHIP) or on Sunday by seeing Kelly.
Please have all donated food items at Memorial Hall no later than 7pm on Wednesday, July 10th. If you are able to join us to prepare what we can before the morning, please sign up and be at Memorial Hall at 7pm on Wednesday. We are usually there for about an hour.
If you are able to help transport and/or serve the meal, please sign up and come to Memorial Hall at 10am on Thursday, July 11th. We will load the cars and head to SHIP to serve lunch from 12-1 pm! The address for SHIP is 87 East High Street, Somerville, NJ. You can park in the lot next door.
This is truly a gift not only for the food insecure that will be served, but for all who take part in this act of loving and compassionate Christ-like care! We hope you can join us, however you are able!
