Greetings, HRC Family! We are excited to join together in community to serve a picnic lunch to the guests of SHIP each month this Summer! Our first picnic of this year will be next Thursday, May 11th! It will be served outside in a picnic area called Tik-Tock's Grove right behind SHIP in Somerville. We are expecting to feed approximately 40 people, and have a number of ways that you can help! Please consider donating and/or prepping or cooking food, transporting/serving the meal, and/or fellowshipping with the guests at the picnic. All food donations should be clearly labeled and brought to Memorial Hall no later than 6 pm on Wednesday, May 10th.
We are doing something new this year! For all who would like to help prepare the meal, please join us on Wednesday, May 10th at 6:30pm in Memorial Hall! We will prepare everything so it can be easily cooked/heated on Thursday morning by the team that will be transporting the meal.
If you are able to help transport and serve the meal, please be at Memorial Hall at 10:45 am Thursday. We will load the cars and head to SHIP where the lunch will be served from 12-1 pm!
This is truly a gift not only for the food insecure that will be served, but for all who take part in this act of loving and compassionate Christ-like care! We hope you can join us, however you are able!
