The earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein…” Psalm 24

Who belongs to the Lord?
Everyone.
Because we are Americans who live under a constitution, we forget this. Our system of government forbids the establishment of religion. Therefore, thankfully, you are free to believe in God and worship him.

However, people believe that if you wish not to worship God and deny his existence, you are free to do so.

That is not what the Bible says. In answer to the question, “Who belongs to the Lord? The Bible says, “Everyone.” Who belongs to the Lord? You do.

You can protest till you are blue in the face, that changes nothing. You are still God’s. You belong to him and are accountable to him – whether you like it or not.

Human beings do not decide if God exists. Human beings do not determine accountability to God.

That means every person drawing breath needs to come to Jesus Christ and accept or reject him.

Thankfully, God is merciful and cleanses us of all unrighteousness. But we must answer to Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

This challenge is not to strike fear in our hearts. It is to lead us to life’s one and only assurance that we belong to the living, loving God. But from God’s word we learn that we must choose him to choose life.

We who love Jesus find ultimate strength in these words. The next Sanitizer will say a little more about this beloved Psalm. Till then we rest in absolute assurance that we belong to God who holds us in his hand.

Please join me in prayer. “The earth is yours, Lord, and every human who lives on it. There is no escape from you and we thank you for that. We thank you that you love us that much and want us that much. Help us to live lives that honor you and we pray that every person alive will come to know you and love you and acknowledge that “The earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein…” Help us, O lord to learn to live in peace knowing that we belong to you. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
