From the Pastor
The Reverend Doctor Fred Mueller began his service with Hillsborough Reformed Church at Millstone in August 2003. He received his undergraduate degree at Hope College and completed his pastoral studies at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Fred recently completed his Doctor of Ministry in Preaching from the Association of Theological Schools in Chicago. He has served congregations in Jersey City, upstate New York and Long Island before making Millstone his home. Among Fred's passions in the ministry are Bible study, biblical preaching and spiritual development of church members. Residing in the parsonage, his family includes his wife, Barbara, who works as a case management nurse and his daughter, Elizabeth, who will begin college in the fall of 2009. His daughter, Rebekah, is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Maine. An adult son, Matthew, lives in North Carolina.
Along with the rest of the consistory (our governing body of elders and deacons), Fred is committed to leading our church to grow in faith and service as together we celebrate God's love and grow in Jesus Christ. Fred teaches that members have three major tasks:
To worship God
To reach out with Christ
To grow all things in discipleship
The leadership shares the vision of our church being an open and welcoming community of faith witnessing to Jesus Christ with love.
